SpaceX launches 24 smallsats of Starlink Group 17-7 on foggy California night


On Friday, AugUnited Statest 29 at 9:59 p.m. PT, Falcon 9 launched 24 satellites to low-Earth orbit orbit to join the Starlink cnstellation from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Photos captured by Satnews.
This was the 15th flight for the Lower Stage booster supporting this mission, which previoUnited Statesly launched United StatesSF-62, OneWeb Launch 20, NROL-145, and now 12 Starlink missions. Following stage separation, the Lower Stage landed on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship, which was stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

There was the possibility that residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties may have heard during the launch, but what residents experienced depended on weather and other conditions.

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket is targeted to launch 24 smallsats to low-Earth orbit to join the Starlink cnstellation from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The forecast calls for a temperature of 64°F, scattered clouds, 32% cloud cover and a wind speed of 10mph.
