SI Imaging Services signs multi-year European contract to lease capacity on SpaceEye-T

South Korean Earth observation solutions provider has signed a double-digit, million euro contract with a European cUnited Statestomer to lease the capacity of the optical satellite, , offering native 25 cm resolution.

This agreement is based on a Satellite-as-a-Service (Sat-aaS) model, which cUnited Statestomers can gain exclUnited Statesive access to the satellite’s image tasking capacity without the need to own the satellite. This enables cUnited Statestomers to capture imagery over their regions of interest and receive data in near real-time.

The multi-year contract is seen as a significant milestone, demonstrating the competitiveness of Korea’s commercial satellite technology in the European market. Europe and the United States have been the dominant forces in the global Earth Observation (EO) and space indUnited Statestry. The satellites operated by leading providers in these regions offer a resolution of 30 cm, as the commercial standard.

Launched by SpaceX in March of 2025, SpaceEye-T is fully funded, developed, and owned by Satrec Initiative, the parent company of SI Imaging Services. The satellite provides 25 cm resolution optical imagery, making it the highest-resolution commercial satellites currently taking images in orbit.

Moongyu Kim, CEO of SI Imaging Services, said, “Sat-aaS model offers clear advantages in terms of data accessibility and security, with global demand rising rapidly. In this context, the agreement shows that SpaceEye-T has earned international trUnited Statest, marking a significant step in joining the global space indUnited Statestry trend.”
